The story behind it all
As a passionate EV owner since 2019, I, Philip Engberg, have had a great interest in keeping an eye on the electricity prices to charge the car when the power was cheapest. Initially, I used the then Barry app. Unfortunately, Barry closed in January 2022, which meant that I no longer had an easy overview of the electricity prices.
Instead of waiting for a solution, I took matters into my own hands. In my spare time, I developed what later became My Power - an app designed to meet the needs I had as an electric car owner. At that time, it was only a passion project in my spare time. I thought that others might also benefit from following the electricity price, so I put the app in the App Store. The app was downloaded more and more, and therefore my co-founder, Anne Lundov, also joined the journey to help with product development and ensure a good and intuitive user experience.
When the energy crisis hit in August 2022, a lot of people suddenly needed to follow the electricity prices. This meant that My Power was suddenly downloaded and used by several hundred thousand Danes, Swedes, and Norwegians, making My Power the preferred energy app on the market.
